It's not for us to state how important blogs like thisisbreaks.com are when it comes to deciding the public's listening preferences, but let's just say, y'know: very.

So it's rather exciting to note that two of our friends in the blogging world, and two of those which regularly feature plenty of upfront breakbeat, lovethattune.com and noiseporn.com, are teaming up for a joint event next month in south London, UK, with a fairly blistering, breaks heavy lineup. Check out the bumf, below and let us know if you're up for this one.

Blogwars presents: Lovethattune.com vs Noiseporn ft Phil Hartnoll (Orbital)

The year is 2009, the internet has democratised opinion-forming, and suddenly every bugger's a critic. At the heart of the revolution are highly influential blogs whose writers can make or break new acts on the dance scene with just a few pithy words.

So who better to hand control of JAMM, Brixton's underground mecca, than the blogerati themselves? That's the thinking behind Blogwars, a new regular initiative at London's fastest growing venue which will task the editors of the UK's sickest blogs with deciding a particular evening's entertainment.

First up, on Friday, June 19, comes Lovethattune.com vs Noiseporn.com, with a lineup that spans the gamut of electronic music from the dawn of rave culture to the latest upfront beats. Orbital's Phil Hartnoll, back on the scene with a bullet in advance of this summer's comeback gigs for the masters of bleepy, dystopian electronica, will be throwing down a special two-hour DJ set. Next up, north London noiseniks Equalizers bring their fresh breakbeat-rave stylings to JAMM, followed by fellow Londoner Beta, current breakbeat producer of choice for those in the know. He'll be joined by two label mates from Sweden's legendary Sound of Habib label, Jariten (who's flying in from Stockholm especially) and east London sonic terrorist Jurassik.

The bar is taken over for the night by south London's finest purveyors of ghetto bass, dubstep and fidget house sounds, Your Mum, who have been rocking joints across Brixton and beyond for the past two years.

All in all this all night event promises to be a temperature-raising clash of old and new, a reminder that the true London underground can not be found in venues where 85% of the clubbers are tourists in town for the weekend, nor beneath the vast, sanitised ceiling of the Millennium Dome. JAMM's Blogwars events are set to shake up the capital's dance music scene, just when things were getting a little too cosy, bringing a clued up crowd to the heart of Brixton.
