With a residency at the Birmingham branch of nationwide clubbing mecca Spectrum, and as director of London-based Supatronix Records, Joebot is something of a UK-straddling breakbeat colossus - and he even finds time to lay down his own fine productions. Check out this hour-long selection of Joebotness, featuring plenty of his own remixes alongside some pretty huge dance-floor anthems and fresh cuts to get your botty shaking like it's just been pummelled with 50,000 watts of bass. Then read on to find out what makes the man who put it together tick.

Where are you now and what are you doing?
I'm in the office juggling the day job chores and updating my website ... typical weekday, let's hope my boss isn't reading eh. Once I escape the corporate clutches this evening I'm off to work on a barrage of new
remixes.
What was the best gig you played in the last six months?
It has to be Eclectricity’s Autumn Festival in Birmingham back in October, the line up was epic, and I was lucky enough to open the Stanton Sessions arena, which got rammed, and jumping in the first 15
minutes ... Birmingham really know how to party!
What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in a DJ booth?
Where to start ... the old classics still crop up from time to time: playing the wrong side/ wrong speed, lifting the tone arm off the record that's playing etc. But I generally find that a loud "oi-oi" followed by an over-exaggerated rewind covers these things up.
What are the top three tracks in your record box right now?
Well, I'm tempted to just put three of my remixes in here but let's be a bit more un-biased.
Pete Jordan – Badass
It's not breaks (boo!!! - Ed), but PJ's productions look set to go off in 2010! and I'm sure the breaks dons will be getting there re-edit mits on this one in particular.
Leuce Rhythms – Headroot
I got sent a demo of this and have been caning it ever since, I think it has just been signed to scarcity, watch out for this, and for more form these guys.. huge tune
Lunar Shift - Prototype (Joebot Remix) Gotta have one of mine in here! Coming soon on Supatronix records!
Complete the sentence: "women respond to ..." ... has any one ever been able to complete this sentence? Surely that's up there with the meaning of life!
What tune would you never play, no matter how desperate?
Can you just put a link to the current
Radio 1 A playlist here? Got it playing in the office ... 99% auto-tuned tripe
If you could warm up for any DJ in the world, who would it be, and why?
There's already been some mammoth names above me on flyers... but I think warming up for someone like the Chems or Prodigy would be mind blowing!
The crowd is flagging and you need an emergency tune to stop them going to the bar. What would it be?
Plump DJs - Electric Disco. It's a classic, but still new to some punters. The first Spectrum set I played, the fire alarm went off three times in the space of an hour, each time the club was emptied while they reset the alarm. It was this tune that got people back in and on the dance floor immediately each and every time!
Vinyl or CD decks?
Its all good! I tend to rock up to gigs with every format under the sun ... You never know with some setups!
Stone cold sober or elegantly wasted? Typically the former, followed by the latter, followed by the loss of "elegantly" especially when there are beers in the DJ booth.
Plump DJs or Stanton Warriors? Plumps remixing Stantons and Stantons remixing Plumps, which has happened now ... hurrah!!
What would you have been doing now if you had not been answering thisisbreaks.com's questions? Sticking it to the man, one facebook status update at a time. (note to self: that would make a good facebook status).
Where do you see yourself in six months time?
Well the last six months are going to be hard to beat, remixing Depeche Mode and Erasure has been a huge deal for me ... But I'm keeping busy - the release schedule for Supatronix Records is filling up, and I'm
about start work on my own six track EP which will have targets set firmly on the dancefloor.
