Soul of Man's Justin Rushmore on the demise of Finger Lickin' Records

The loss of Finger Lickin' records, possibly the scene's best known label, has certainly hit the breaks scene hard. While some of the people behind the label are involved in A Skillz' new Jam City nufunk imprint, and artists like Plump DJs and Slyde have gone on to launch their own labels, we'll certainly miss those brightly coloured 12" covers, designed by Soul of Man's Jem Panufnik, and the cool and funky music that was always packed inside.

NSB Radio's Dead Easy show recently interviewed label boss Justin Rushmore (above) to get a handle on why Finger Lickin' decided to close its doors, and you can listen to it by hitting the player below. Interesting shizzle for sure.

Sad day, indeed. I'll always hold my first breaks 12" dear to my heart. Red Shift opened everything up to me.
