Happy Friday to you all.

Rather than focusing on one artist in particular this edition of the blog is just going to be a few links of some mixes and a track that have become available for download over the last couple of weeks. Some of you may already have these but I felt that they were so good that it was only right to make people aware of them and supply some great free music to check out over the weekend. First up...

For those of you that are unaware he is the label boss of Air Recordings and has been running very successful parties in the UK for a number of years including the Air nights at Rhythm Factory / Cargo and his weekly Saturday night parties at Paradise in West London. He is also a dedicated crate digger and heavily into his Nufunk and has a regular show on Kiss FM which has hosted guest mixes from some of the biggest names in the scene. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you can. He's recently released the second instalment of his Oh Shit (Paradise) mixes which is another compilation of the best new and classic funky music out there. DJ Parker

Even if you don't know of this guy there's a 99% chance that you would've heard his Where's My Monkey track that was included in DJ mixes by everyone from A Skillz to Yoda and beyond last year. It was a bootleg of the Caspa remix of TC's Where's My Money and featured the vocal of I Wanna Be Like You from the Jungle Book as well as a comedic breakdown guranteed to raise a chuckle from even the most straight faced chinstroker. This is his latest mix and in a similar vein to the Featurecast mix that was up on the blog previously it covers a little bit of everything. From Nufunk through, breaks, dubstep, drum 'n' bass, swing, pop. You name it, it's in there somewhere! A true example of a mixing masterclass. It's not every day that you will find Glenn Miller's In The Mood brilliantly mixed in with Incredible by General Levy. And that's just a taste of the genius on show in this 46(!!) track mix. This guy is gonna be huge in 2010, and this is why....

Finally I just want to say a big congratulations to everyone who won, were nominated or got involved with the annual Breakspoll Awards which was hosted at Fabric last night. From what I've heard so far it was absolute carnage. Good efforts all round. Which leads me on to something a little bit different from one of last nights winners...

Fresh from picking up their award for Best Podcast I have an awesome remix by these guys which sounds nothing like their usual style. As well as running their successful Ape Music label and brand Ben & Lex are the
long serving residents of Beatz & Bobz which has been running in Exeter now for around 13 years. These guys are renowned all over for being fine purveyors of making and playing hard edged breaks which smashes dancefloors to bits. This track that they've made available for download however is a remix for Plymouth DJ Aldo Vanucci and is a really nice funked up affair featuring vocals from Amie J. It came out on Good Living Records last year but can be yours for free by checking out the link below.
